Persistence is Power

One step closer ...

So I graduated from PITT on Saturday with a Master's of International Development. Praise the Lord!! It will be forever remembered by the African drummers that danced us to and from our seats. Our families were all hooting and hollering. The speaker was this humorous columnist from the NY Times. By far the most energetic graduation ceremony I've ever attended. I can't believe it was mine! Here are a few pictures of enjoying the day with my family.

A memorable Japanese proverb from my classmate Aya:
Persistence is Power

To the Behren's Caregroup

I will miss you.

In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise,
give me Jesus

Give me Jesus
Give me Jesus,
You can have all this world,
But give me Jesus

When I am alone
When I am alone
When I am alone,
give me Jesus

Give me Jesus
Give me Jesus,
You can have all this world,
But give me Jesus

When I come to die
When I come to die
When I come to die,
give me Jesus

Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus,
You can have all this world,
You can have all this world,
You can have all this world,
But give me Jesus

The End and the Beginning

The wait is over. Praise the Lord - I'm going to Liberia, baby!!! I was accepted into Samaritan's Purse's internship program and will begin serving as of June 10th.

So, soon it will be the end of my beautiful life here in Pittsburgh. These next few weeks will be precious. I find that some of the most meaningful times in your life come at "the ends" and "the beginnings". It's when you see things fresh. You notice all the wonderful details that you once took or will take for granted. Feelings are raw and real. Life is beautiful and strange. You see God's hand all over it all.

My prayer: that He is more and I am less.
